Our review
An editor will review the published material, audit record and available evidence. We may contact the reporter, source or person submitting the request. A request does not guarantee a change, but every specific, evidence-supported claim will be considered in good faith.
How changes are labeled
- Correction: fixes a material factual error and explains what changed.
- Clarification: improves precision where the original was not factually wrong but could mislead.
- Update: adds important information that emerged after publication.
- Editor’s note: explains a substantial editorial issue, review or unusual change.
Minor spelling, grammar, formatting or link repairs that do not alter meaning may be corrected without a note. We do not silently change a material fact.
Removal requests
Published material generally remains part of the public record. We consider removal or de-indexing only in exceptional circumstances involving legal obligations, safety, privacy, serious unfairness or a fundamentally flawed report.
